Brilliant

We come to Yorkshire twice a year and always go here. The fish and chips are absolutely great. The staff are lovely and friendly and we wouldn’t go anywhere else. And very reasonably priced.

Weekend in Whitby

The Fish was lovely, light, crispy, batter . Me and the wife had small haddock chips, a mushy peas. Absolutely beautiful. Definitely, go, again 10 out of 10 just as good as trenches, and there’s no queuing up.

Lovely Haddock & Chips

Lovely Haddock and Chips. Ordered large and it appeared large and was freshly cooked. They were put in a longer tray with closeable lid which gave us enough time to walk to the harbour edge and sit and eat them with the provided wooden forks (no grease dripping from the tray). Never been here before so cannot compare sizes of previous Haddock portions. Staff were Friendly. Not a bad price at £12.50, especially compared to another shop wanting £18 for Haddock !! Unsure if it has changed hands as the shop was different to the tripadvisor photo (no table and chairs) unless there was another entry we missed but didn’t notice one. Clean and tidy shop. Will definitely be returning next time we are in Whitby.

The Best Fish Ever

Seriously the best fish and chips I have ever eaten in Whitby and beyond. I have been coming to this place since I was a child on family holidays and the food tastes better today than it ever has. Would highly recommend!!

Jolly Fine Meal

On a gloomy wet evening, there weren’t many people out and about in Whitby, and most places we eyeballed were pretty empty. We chose the Royal Fisheries as their Scampi actually said which boat caught it. We were made welcome as soon as we walked in, and our wet clothing wasn’t an issue. The meal was piping hot, generous in portion size and nicely presented. We felt that our custom was valued… the service was good and the bill very reasonable. Oh, and that Scampi was really rather nice.

Highly recommended place to eat

Attended the restaurant on the recommendation of trip advisor. It was our first visit here, but have been coming to Whitby for years. On arriving it was very busy, no waiting outside, and no waiting inside too. The waitress showed us to a table and came back with a menu. She was polite and well presented…

Amazing

Wow. We ate the yorkshire deal, chose haddock.had regular fish chips and mushy peas, bread butter and tea. Absoloutly beautiful. Its spotlessly clean. The staff are really pleasant an helpful. By far the best food i have eaten in whitby

Lovely Fish & Chips

Really enjoyed our Haddock and chips. It wasn’t as mad busy as the ones on the front and just as good. I would definitely recommend trying the Royal fisheries. Nice touch with the 2 choices on curry sauce.

Fantastic

Couldn’t fault it. Beautifully cooked fish in crispy but not greasy batter. Chips were tasty too. Service was friendly and prompt. Highly recommend.

Excellent Fish and Chips

Excellent fish and chips. Possibly the best we’ve had! No hint of soggy batter and the chips were well above standard fare. Is it the crinkle shape which helps to make them so good? 😉
